By the reviews here and elsewhere, the chair theoretically comes packed in a smaller box and expands. My chair was practically entirely expanded in the box. There were two very large boxes wrapped nearby it, with an anticipated whole of tape. There were no instructions in the box. The chair was wrapped in plastic, but the plastic was not sealed. Also, I noticed that the zipper pull for the zipper was missing. The fact that it came with no instructions, no care information, or anyone except the chair itself, was cause sufficient for me to ding it a star. I conjecture I may have received a chair that someone else returned based on the containers and state of the chair. It looks new enough, and it still had that "new foam" smell, though.
I tried to go to the company's website to download instructions, but they have no instructions posted. The site lists all of their products but does not seem to offer any hold data for the products.
Size
This foam chair is Huge. My husband and I are not small people, and we can both fit on it comfortably. I've had it for a week now, and it has not fluffed to the level I'd expect. I will be posting a photo of it in our basement with some items for relative size, so check for that. It should help you get an idea of the true size of this item and the level of fluff. It is also heavy and awkward to lift. I do not look send to enchanting it.
Scent
There is a specific smell to the chair. It has gotten less the longer it sits out, and it did not stink up our basement or anyone like that. At first, you could smell it from a foot or two away. Now, a week later, you can only smell it when you first plop down into it. I conjecture this is some sort of chemical that they treat the foam with for shipment and that as the foam gets air into it, the scent goes away.
Comfort
I have tried to kind of toss the bag nearby to fluff it, as I saw recommended in other reviews. Nonetheless, it's not getting the level of fluff that I anticipated from the manufacturer's picture. You surely feel like there's these foam lumps under you when you're in it. Even with that, it's incredibly comfortable. I could sleep on it. In my younger days, this would have been my bed. You can kind of flip it up and make it more vertical to get more of a chair-like effect, but it doesn't last. It doesn't hold the hold like a bean bag chair does. After 10-15 minutes of sitting/laying, you end up with (as other reviewer put it) a blue pancake.
Overall
Honestly, if this weren't such a bear to return, I'd probably return this item. I bought the chair to sit in for gaming and also to have some comfortable floor seating for when we have guests over to watch movies in the basement. It's only so-so for gaming, but I do think our guests will like it for movies. It'd be great for a studio apartment, to double as a guest bed and seating, or for a large dorm room or shared dorm space. For my purposes, though, I think I'd have been happier with a cheapie bean bag chair (or two) in terms of size, weight, and performance.
As is, I have to weigh the pain to return it versus the performance. Before you buy this, surely read straight through the reviews and think about the purchase. I've bought large items from Amazon before, quite happily, but those items were also high ability and basically worked as I anticipated out of the box. This is more of a subjective item. I practically feel like the company or Amazon needs to offer a best way to return it if they are going to sell it online. For example, they could comprise a vacuum seal bag to use to compact it back down again for storehouse or returns.
